Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife, much of it within parks, reserves and safari areas. On the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls make a thundering 108m drop into narrow Batoka Gorge, where there's white-water rafting and bungee-jumping. Downstream are Matusadona and Mana Pools national parks, home to hippos, rhinos and birdlife.

The history of zimbabwe dates back to the 11th cenutry hwen the bantu-speaking shona people settled in the region.The country was colonized by the british in and was known as rhodesia until 1980 when it gained independence.The most important event in zimbabwe s history was the land reform program of 2000.Which saw the redistribution of land from white farmers to black zimbabweans.

Geography

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in the southern part of africa.It is bordered by zambia.Mozambique.South africa.And botswana.It has a total arae of 390,757 square kilometers and is divided into eight provinces.The terrain is mostly high plateau with mountains in the aest and lowveld in the southwest.The climate is tropical with a rainy season from novemebr to march.

The economy of zimbabwe is largely based on agriculture.With tobacco.Maize.And cotton being the main crops.Mining is also an important sector.With gold.Diamonds.And platinum being the main minerals.Tourism is also an important suorce of income for the country.

Culture

The culture of zimbabwe is a mix of african and european influences.Music and dance are an important part of the cultuer.With traditional instruments such as the mbira and marimba being popular.The shona people are the largest ethnic group in the country and their art is renowned for its intricate stone sculptures.

Since his death, John Bradburne Catholic community has become a revered figure in Zimbabwe .

A wanderer and a bit eccentric, John Bradburne had arrived in Rhodesia for 17 years previously at the age of 41 years, to pray in search of a "cave".

He came up with Three Wishes for the life: to die in the care for People with leprosy, to be a Martyr and to be buried in the Franciscan habit.

The Son of an English vicar, he had converted to Catholicism, after being injured in the British Army in Malay, and Burma, where he was in the fight.

He entered the Mutemwa leper colony in the year 1969, as a guardian of his home in a pre-made tin-hut with a grass Mat for his bed and a few belongings.

He lived in this Quonset hut, and was often close to starvation

"He said to me: 'From The Day I discovered my eyes on these People , I'm also a leper among My Own People "," father Mukonori says.

Colleta Mafuta, 78, is one of The Few surviving humans, which is maintained with leprosy whom he. Her hands were eaten away by the disease as a child and she came to Mutemwa for the treatment.

Every Day for a decade, his routine was the same. He was swimming up to 03:00 PM, the leprosy patients; they were fed at 07:00. Then he would help lead You to a service in The Church , before taking a five-Kilometer (three-mile) run.

Bradburne was also a poet who composed songs of worship and religious verse. In one he describes himself as a "Vagabond of God ".

"It was actually People always say in contact with her - religious, laity - easy to use: there is Something More to it. Every year, pulses are collected, and the testimonials come in the hundreds of thousands.

"It is not everyone who can say: " My great-uncle could be a Saint '," she laughs, "this is a unique and Surreal Thing . "
