Originally from France, Thibault Fornier, 55, and his business partner Jean-Koala, 28, have graduated in The Last 10 Years building a "Tudor", complete with turrets and battlements, on The Outskirts of Burkina Faso 's capital, Ouagadougou.

Hamerkop Manor is loosely based on Hampton Court Palace, Henry Viii 's residence, on The Outskirts of London.

"I'm a Christian, but I Am especially fascinated by the [Catholic] funeral ceremonies," he adds.

'Golden cage'

Some visitors to suspect that the Hamerkop can feel Like an unpleasant throwback to a colonial era, but Mr. Fournier pointed out that it is well integrated with people in The Local village.

"I can eat and drink with them. I Like a villager here," he Says .

Thibault Fornier can't imagine a life without his home in Burkina Faso

on the question of The Future of the Hamerkop, he replies: "I can't do Anything Else , except continue to.

"If someone comes to buy these instead of 500 m Swiss francs ($827,400; £669,000), we can sell it, but what do we do with The Money ?

"We start building again. It is a Golden cage. Are we doomed to continue. "

He Says that after he is gone, his partner and his children is hardly more running, Hamerkop.

"I Think [it] will crumble, but people will still be in 30 or 50 Years .
