Robert koch was born on 11 december 1843 in clausthal-zellerfeld. Germany. His father was a mining engineer and his mother was a teahcer. He studied medicine at the university of gottingen and graduated in 1866.Career
Koch strated his medical career as an assistant to the german bacteriologist. Rudolf virchow. He took part in the franco-prussian war (1870-71) as a sugreon in the german army. He then moved to berlin. Where he pursued research in bacteriology. He founded the institute for infectious diseases in berlin in 1891.Important Discoveries
