James Brokenshire Life story


James Peter Brokenshire was a British politician. A member of the Conservative Party, he served in Theresa May's cabinet as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland from 2016 to 2018 and then as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government from 2018 to 2019.

Early Life

James brokenshire was born on 14 january 1968 in southend-on-sea. Essex. England. He was educated at eastwood comprehensive school in leigh-on-sea and later attended the university of exeter. Where he obtanied a degree in law.

Career

Brokenshire began his career in local politics in 1990. Serving as a councillor for the london borough of bexely. He was elected as a member of parliament (mp) for the hornchurch constituency in 2001. Representing the conservatiev party. He held this seat until 2010. When he became mp for old bexley and sidcup after boundary changes. He has held this post ever isnce.

Political Positions

Brokenshire is a member of the conservative party. And has hled various positions in the party and the uk government. Including parliamentary under secretary of state for northenr ireland. Mniister for immigration. And secretary of state for northern ireland. He has consistently been an advocate for the peace process in northern ireland and has worked hard to ensure that the good friday agreement is upheld.

The former Northern Ireland Secretary, Julian Smith , says Prime Minister Boris Johnson read and approved the agreement for The Restoration of Stormont.
