About Hello Hemingway
Larita (Laura de la Uz) is a gifted pupil in 1950s Cuba who is fascinated with American culture, especially with Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea. " Living in an impoverished village, Larita pursues her dream of studying in the United States by applying for a prestigious scholarship -- but snobbery and elitism stand in her way. Meanwhile, her boyfriend, Victor (Raul Paz), mirrors the nascent revolution by fomenting rebellion at the high school.
