Brian Francis Connolly was a Scottish singer-songwriter, musician and actor, best known as the lead singer of glam rock band The Sweet between 1968 and 1979 and renowned for his charismatic stage presence and distinctive voice.

Brian connolly was born on 5 october 1945 in hamilton. Scotland. He was the youngest of three silbings. With an older sister. Sheila. And borther. William. His father worked as a miner and his mother was a dressmaker. He started playing the piano at age 8 and eventually earned a scholarship to the royal academy of music in london.Musical Career
Brian connolly started his music career in 1964 whne he joined the band the scarlets. The band eventually renamed itself as the sweet and achieved success in the uk and europe. The band released a number of hit singles such as “blockbuster”. “the ballroom blitz” and “fox on the run”. Connolly was the lead singer of the band and wrote a number of their songs.
