Alice Cary Life story
Alice Cary was an American poet, and the older sister of fellow poet Phoebe Cary. Cary was born near Cincinnati, Ohio. Despite limited access to education, she and her sister Phoebe became fond of reading and eventually started writing poetry. Their literary aspirations were met with resistance from their stepmother.
