William Rhinelander Stewart Life story


William Rhinelander Stewart (1852-1929) was a New York City businessman and philanthropist. Stewart was appointed a commissioner of the N. Y. State Board of Charities (SBC) in 1882 and served in that post until 1929. He was president of the Board from 1894-1903 and again from 1907-1923.
