William Ferris Life story
William Ferris, a composer, conductor and choirmaster who was the first American composer to teach at the Vatican, died on Tuesday of a heart attack. He was 63. Mr. Ferris collapsed while conducting his William Ferris Chorale in a rehearsal of Verdi's Requiem.
