Walter J. Burghardt Life story
Walter John Burghardt was born in New York City on July 10, 1914, a son of John and Mary Krupp Burghardt. Ordained in 1941, he received a master's degree in philosophy and theology from Woodstock College, a Jesuit seminary outside Baltimore, and then a doctorate in theology from Catholic University of America.
