Voronezh Oblast is a federal subject of Russia. Its administrative center is the city of Voronezh. Its population was 2,335,380 as of the 2010 Census. Voronezh Oblast is the birthplace of Pavel Cherenkov, co-recipient of the 1958 Nobel Prize in Physics.
