About USS Stevenson (DD-645)
USS Stevenson (DD-645), a Gleaves-class destroyer, was the second ship of the United States Navy to be assigned that name. The first vessel, Stevenson, was cancelled during construction and never completed. Both ships are named for John H. Stevenson.
