About USS Perch (SS-176)
USS Perch (SS-176) - a Porpoise-class submarine, was the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for the perch. Her keel was laid down on 25 February 1935 by the Electric Boat Company, in Groton, Connecticut. She was launched on 9 May 1936.
