About University For Development Studies
The University for Development Studies, Tamale was established in 1992 by then president Jerry John Rawlings with a view to accelerating the development of the 3 Northern Regions. Rawlings used money from an award he had received as seed money for its founding. It was set up as a multi-campus institution.
