TSUNETSUGU MURAOKA Life story
TSUNETSUGU MURAOKA (1884-1946), a prominent historian, was a pioneer in empirical research and the founder of Nippon shiso shi (Japanese intellectual history), a new field of historical inquiry. From 1922 until his retirement in 1946 he was Chair of Japanese Intellectual History at Tohoku Imperial University.
