After race car driver Tommy Callahan (Fabian) experiences blackouts that lead to a deadly accident, he is banished from professional competition. Taking a job as a stunt driver, Tommy meets Francie Madsen (Annette Funicello) and her young beau, Eddie Sands (Warren Berlinger). Tommy teaches Eddie the essentials of driving.
