Thorvald Nilsen Life story
Thorvald Nilsen was captain of the polar ship, the Fram and deputy commander during Roald Amundsen's expedition to Antarctica. While Amundsen conquered the South Pole, the Fram was used for oceanographic observations in the South Atlantic.
