When notorious gangster Louis Garrett (Charles Bickford) murders the local tailor, a group of high school students are incensed at the fact that Garrett walks away a free man. They appeal to the town's adults, but when they realize everyone is too scared to stand up to Garrett, the students take matters into their own hands.
