Remi also designs all of the products, even

The Bbc , the weekly-in-chief-series-profiles of various executives from all over The World . This Week , we speak with Remi Clermont, co-founder and co-owner of the Cycling apparel company Café Cycliste you.

If Remi Clermont was a teenager, he was embarrassed that his father go to like Road Cycling .

From the Road Cycling , he means to ride the kind of bike you see in The Tour de France - "Drop -arm", the swing to the bottom, and the skinny tires.

in Spite of Remi , France , and Road Cycling are not born and raised in the Alsace region in the East-as one of the country's most popular sports, his young self knew just how to do it.

"My Friends and I, all of the children were in Mountain Biking at The Time (the early 1990s)," says the 44-year-old. "Road, was considered to be very boring. I was almost ashamed When I told friends that my father was in him. "

Remi loved Cycling as a child, only not on road bikes

Little teenager Remi have know, he would go to catch the Lycra and Asphalt wheel-bug in his 20s. And Then , at the Age Of 33, introduction, what is today one of the fastest growing Road Cycling apparel company café du Cycliste.

Founded in the year 2009, in nice, on the French Riviera , the company says it now sells €4m (£3. 6m; $4. 5m) in the value of jerseys, shorts and other items of clothing per year, with 50% year-over-year growth.

"You certainly can say that I changed my mind," jokes Remi .

But before we have to go back to Cycling , we will, to The World of competitive kayaking. Remi took up kayaking When he was nine, and went on to become a member of the French national team for Six Years in his 20s.

"My specialty was white-water kayaking," he says. "Unfortunately, the discipline is not an Olympic sport, so I never have to go to one of them, but it was to represent great France in the international competitions.

"And it was The Reason I was Cycling in the road. Because you could not, kayaking and in The Winter When it was cold, I had to cycle to keep my fitness up. "

Then, as he retired from the water port, at the Age Of 28, he gave the sport of Cycling .

Remil, on the left, was a member of the French team for Six Years ,

As he was not paid for his kayak, Remi was also required to hold a full-Time job in his 20s. After a business degree from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, he worked in the sports hospitality sector. This includes work at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy included.

A year later, he got a job in the marketing Department of the European arm of a US IT company.

"I was not a good fit for The Role , as I knew nothing about it," says Remi . "But it had a massive thing going on there - it was nice, this really is Cycling Paradise. The Hills behind nice, [the lead up to the Alps] are just wonderful. "

Remi was Stewart soon, the week to spend Cycling with a work colleague by the name of Andre. Then Andre quit to buy and run a Café in a small village on The North -West of nice, the naming of Café du Cycliste.

Additional features:

Two years later, in 2009, Remi left the IT company, to his friend in The Cafe business. His plan was to design and launch a series of upscale Road Cycling clothing, you could sell to all the drivers stopped to eat, for a drink and a bite to eat.

Specifically, Remi , the Cycling jerseys wanted to produce, he says, that you could not buy in France in The Time - simple and subtle ones, not out-of-place in a posh menswear Shop.

Remi describes Beautiful and the surrounding area as a "Bicycle Paradise"

"The only thing Cycling jerseys, you could buy at The Time in France , The Race with large logos and sponsors that you look As If you compete in The Tour de France ," he says. "I wanted something completely different. "

There was a hook, but, Remi had no knowledge of or experience in the clothing industry. But undeterred, he says that he can get to work.

"I began to learn what I could," he says. "I had some friends In Paris , the works were got in clothes and fashion, so I have some tips and helpful care of them.

"And I started me to all the fairs and ask millions of questions, and the contact many of the factories in Italy. "

A few months later, agreed to by a manufacturer in Italy, to Remi 's first design for a Cycling Jersey, and The Fashion side of the Café du Cycliste was up and Running .

Remi all products own designs

is the turnover from the business were low, however, so Remi is a website launched to target online customers, especially from overseas. With little to No Money for advertising, he send samples would be free to Cycling journalists in different countries.

you would then write rave reviews, and sales took off quickly, particularly in the UK and Japan.

"cyclists in the UK and Japan were really open to what we do," says Remi . "And that remains the case, only 10 to 15% of our sales in France . Many cyclists want to look still, As If you take part in a race all The Time . "

the British Cycling journalist and commentator Rebecca Charlton, says that brands such as the Café du Cycliste and the British Rapha, Le Col and Assos have led The Way in the course of the last decade in offering high-quality, stylish Bicycle clothing. This coincided with a large increase in The Number of people, the sport, what to a boom in sales of the company.

"The trends, cuts and designs of the modern Cycling kit, are a Far Cry from the extremely limited possibilities that I had as a Young Girl ," she says.

"And the psychology is not to underestimate - if you are already on a new Cycling outfit that you feel a little more motivated to Get Out of The Door , and you Feel Good . If it flatters, and fits perfectly, The Ride feels more comfortable, and it definitely adds to the Morale . "

Remi , pictured here with his father, says that dad is now a fan of the clothing,

Back in The Cafe du Cycliste ' s Head Office in Beautiful, Remi says that the recent sales of the industry have reflected to increase, as a result of the coronavirus, to train, or avoid Public Transport .

His father is also a fan of the clothes, the Remi design continues to be himself, and is manufactured in A Number of European factories. But his father wasn't initially impressed again in 2009.

"When I started, he would not wear it to says because there are various race jerseys, which he was accustomed", Remi .
