About The Quarrymen
The Quarrymen are a British skiffle/rock and roll group, formed by John Lennon in Liverpool in 1956, which evolved into the Beatles in 1960. Originally consisting of Lennon and several schoolfriends, the Quarrymen took their name from a line in the school song of their school, the Quarry Bank High School.

This previously unpublished photo of The Quarrymen shows Paul Mccartney , John Lennon and George Harrison a year before The Beatles .
The Image , captured in Liverpool in 1959, appeared on the 50th anniversary of McCartney announcing he left The Group .

Lennon formed the skiffle and rock 'n' roll group beginning in 1957, in addition to Rod Davis and Pete Shotton , Colin Hanton , Eric Griffiths and Len Garry .

McCartney, Lennon and Harrison evolved into The Beatles , with Pete Best , until he was replaced by Ringo Starr in August 1962.
