Rosalie (Anne Bancroft) is the sister of notorious, well-connected mobster Phil (Anthony Quinn). When Rosalie ends up pregnant by Nicky (Farley Granger), an upstart crook facing a death sentence, Phil uses his influence to clear the soon-to-be-father's name and get him out of prison so that he can marry Rosalie.
