About The Jesse Owens Story

In the 1960s, Jesse Owens (Dorian Harewood) is accused of tax evasion. So court-appointed investigator Lew Gilbert (Georg Stanford Brown) takes a look into Owens' back story. What he finds is a life full of both adversity and triumph. As a young man, Owens faces racism on a daily basis, but eventually teams up with white coach Charles Riley (George Kennedy) and pushes his way into the 1936 Olympics. There, he triumphs in the face of Hitler and serves as a beacon for black America.
