The Diamonds are a Canadian vocal quartet that rose to prominence in the 1950s and early 1960s with 16 Billboard hit records. The original members were Dave Somerville, Ted Kowalski, Phil Levitt, and Bill Reed.

Zimbabwe has rejected the allegations. Secretary for Information Nick Mangwana says the US has no evidence, and that Washington was "misinformed or misled".

The mining region of Marange in Eastern Zimbabwe is estimated to be one of The World 's richest diamond reserves and is one of the most important revenue earner for a country in dire economic Straits.
