About Tenrecs
A tenrec is any species of mammal within the afrotherian family Tenrecidae endemic to Madagascar. Tenrecs are widely diverse; as a result of convergent evolution some resemble hedgehogs, shrews, opossums or mice. They occupy aquatic, arboreal, terrestrial and fossorial environments.
