About Tebessa
Tébessa or Tebessa, the classical Theveste, is the capital city of Tébessa Province in the Shawi region of Algeria, 20 km west of its Tunisian border. There is a phosphate mine nearby and the city is known for its traditional Algerian carpets. Tébessa was home to over 190,000 people in 2007.
