In post-9/11 New York, a Muslim cabbie (Abdellatif Kechiche) is suspicious of an American woman's (Robin Wright Penn) motives when she insists on trying to help his jailed brother. The woman's actions set in motion a chain of events that lead to the revelation of a horrible truth.
