About Slightly French
In this musical comedy, movie director John Gayle (Don Ameche) botches a production when his feud with a star French actress (Adele Jergens) leads to her quitting and his being fired. In order to save his job, John tries to pass off carnival singer Mary (Dorothy Lamour) as a French actress. The movie's producer (Willard Parker) agrees to cast Mary and quickly falls for her.
