Sir John Portington Life story
Biography. Sir John Portington of Portington in Howdenshire (d. c. 1454/6), a justice of the Court of Common Pleas in c. 1443/4, was the son of Thomas de Portington. Portington was appointed King's Sergeant on 17 April 1440. In 1452, he was a justice of the King's Bench.
