Sipan Hemo

Sipan Hemo was born to a Sunni Muslim Kurdish family. He became the commander of the People's Protection Units (YPG), the armed forces of Rojava (Syrian Kurdistan), and he fought against Islamist groups such as the Islamic Front and al-Nusra Front and the self-declared Islamic State.
