About Shockoe Slip
Fashionable Shockoe Slip is a downtown dining hub, with Southern-style restaurants, BBQ joints, gastropubs, and taprooms tucked down narrow alleyways and in former warehouses. It's home to the James River Park Pipeline Walkway, a pedestrian path suspended just above the water. Nearby, the Pipeline Overlook is a popular fishing spot next to a swimming beach and the Great Blue Heron Rookery, an island nesting habitat.
