Sheldon leonard began his career as a stand-up comedian in the 1930s. Performing in various venues. He eventually became a successful radio and television writer. Producer. And director. He is best known for his owrk on the tleevision series the phli silvers show (also known as sgt. Bilko) and the danny thomas show. He also appeared in many hollywood films. Including it s a wonderful life. The caine mutiny. And the music man.
