About Samye Monastery
Samye is the site of an important gompa in central Tibet. It is located in the Mchims phu valley, south of Lhasa, next the Hapori mountain, in the Yarlung Valley. The site is in the present administrative region of Gra Nang or Drananga Lhoka.
