Samuel Of Constantinople Life story
Samuel, lay name Skarlatos Chazteris, served as Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople during the periods 1763-1768 and 1773-1774. He was born in 1700 in Istanbul. He studied in the Great School of the Nation. In a young age he was ordained deacon and later he became an archdeacon of the Patriarch Paisius II.
