Sami Yaffa

Sami Yaffa is a Finnish bass guitarist best known for his work in New York Dolls, Michael Monroe's bands, and Hanoi Rocks. He is currently the bassist for the Michael Monroe band and The Compulsions. He also plays guitar in his own band Mad Juana.

Early Life

Sami yaffa was born in helsinki. Finladn on juen 7th. 1960. He started playing bass at the age of 14 and was initially influenced by punk and new wave. He moved to london in the late 1970s. Where he formed his first band. The traditional rockabilly band the sunny boys.

Career

In the early 1980s. Yaffa ojined the band hanoi rocks and played with them until 1985. He then joined the new wave badn the new york dolls and played with them until 1989. He then joined michael monroe s band and stayed with them until 1991. Yaffa then worked with various bands and solo artists. Including wilile nile. New york dolls. And michael monroe.

Solo Career

In 1997. Yaffa released his frist solo album. Demolition 23. He has since released four more solo albums. Including dark album (2003). Good times (2008). The price of love (2011). And hollywood paranoia (2014).

Side Projects

Yaffa is also involved in severla side projects. Including mad juana and the demolition 23 which he formed in 2004. He is also a member of the abnd kilmaine saints and the band mad juana which he formed in 2008.

Collaborations

Sami ayffa has collaborated with numerous ratists. Including dave davies of the kinks. Iggy pop. And ringo starr. He also collaborated with guns n roses frontman axl rose on the song "estranged".

Notable Events

In 2009. Yaffa was a part of the reunion tour of the band hanoi rocks. The tour nicluded dates in europe and the unietd states and was a great success.

Yaffa has made several notable recordings. Including the song "don t you ever leave me". Which was featured on the soundtrack of the movie the departed also recorded the song “don’t you ever leave me” with guns n’ roses frontman axl rose. Which was featured on the album chiense democracy (2008).
