Russian Compound

Known for its 19th-century buildings, the Russian Compound is home to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, an imposing Russian Orthodox church with domed spires, painted icons, and elaborate goldwork. In a former prison, the Museum of Underground Prisoners displays exhibits on Jewish resistance fighters captured during the British Mandate. Student bars and casual falafel spots cluster on and around Heleni ha-Malka Street.
