Roxana Beecher Life story
Roxana Foote, Lyman Beecher's first wife and Harriet's mother, was a granddaughter of Revolutionary General Andrew Ward, was literate, artistic, and read mathematical and scientific treatises for pleasure. She had seven children. Lyman & Roxana started a select girl's school.
