About Ron Fouchier
Ron Fouchier is a Dutch virologist and Deputy Head of the Erasmus MC Department of Viroscience. He is notable for publishing his gain-of-function research with influenza viruses. A Dutch court blocked the publication of his work on H5N1 because it would proliferate weapons of mass destruction or dual-use technology.
