Sir Robert Paul Cohan CBE is an American-born former dancer, choreographer, and the founding artistic director of The Place, London Contemporary Dance School, and London Contemporary Dance Theatre, which he directed for 20 years. Robert Cohan was born in 1925 in Brooklyn, New York to a Jewish family.
