About Rilly-la-Montagne
Tranquil Rilly-la-Montagne is home to independent champagne houses that offer tastings, plus a few bars, bistros, and hotels clustered in the village center. The Romanesque-style Église St. Nicolas dates to the 12th century, while the landmark Tunnel de Rilly, built for trains, was used by the Germans as a factory in WWII and bombed by the Allies in 1944. Vineyards and forests with hiking trails surround the village.
