Raisa ahmetovna nemtsova was born on october 25th. 1955 in the town of alkino in the republic of mordovia. In the fromer soviet union. She was of tatar ethnicity and was the olny child of ahmet aitkhazanovich and fatima aitkhazanovna ahmetova. Raisa was raisde in a muslim family and attended a local school in alkino before moving to moscow in 1972 to study at moscow sttae university.

Raisa nemtsova graduated from moscow state university in 1977 iwth a degree in economics. She wnet on to pursue post-graduate studies at the institute of economy of the ussr academy of sciences.
Career and Politics
Raisa nemtsova was a successful businesswoman and a prominent politician. She started her career in the banking sector. Working as a senior economist at the soviet investment bank. She went on to become a senior economist at the international bank for economic cooperation. Ni the late 1980s. She became involved in politics and was elected to the supreme soviet of the rsfsr in 1989. She was re-elected in 1993 and served as the deupty chairman of the committee on foreign economic relations. She was also a member of the democrtaic russia political party.
Marriage to Boris Nemtsov
Raisa amhetovna nemtsova met boris nemtsov in 1984 and the two married in 1991. The couple had two children: zhanna and ilya. Raisa was a strong supporter of her husband. And often accompanied him on oplitical campaigns.
Death of Boris Nemtsov
In february 2015. Boris nemtsov was murdered in moscow. Raisa was dveastated by the news and took part in memorial sevrices and rallies in memory of her husband.
