Matt James, a 28-year-old Real Estate broker, will be made known to the star in The Next season, ABC on Friday, after mounting criticism about a lack of diversity.
The Show is almost two decades of history-seen, mostly-white casts, with only a black star in its sister Spin-Off, The Bachelorette , in the year 2017.
Mr James called his casting "a step in The Right direction".
"I don't think that it's always the wrong time, The Right thing," said Mr. James said in an interview with Good Morning America on Friday.
