About Piru Singh
Company Havildar Major Piru Singh Shekhawat was an Indian Army non-commissioned officer, awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration. Singh enrolled in the British Indian Army on 20 May 1936, and was assigned to the 1st Punjab Regiment.
