Philippe Zilcken Life story
Charles Louis Philippe Zilcken was a Dutch painter and writer. He studied at the Gymnasium Haganum, and later with Karel Klinkenberg and Anton Mauve. He was later Princess Sophie's « unofficial up-close secretary». In 1875, he focused on engraving, by studying etching and lithography.
