China-Uighurs: adhesive for beards, veils, and surfing the internet

Feb 16,2020 8:20 am

A document that appears to give The Most powerful insight, however, as in China, the fate of hundreds of thousands of Muslims, instead of determined, the bearings in a network of internment by the BBC.

the collection of The Personal data of More Than 3,000 people from the far Western Region of Xinjiang, it puts itself in the intricate Details, The Most intimate aspects of your daily life.

The meticulous records of 137 pages of columns and rows that count how often people pray, how they dress, who they have contact with and how their Family Members behave.

China says Xinjiang guidelines of "respect and ensure, that persons, the freedom of religious belief". In addition, she stresses that what he calls a "vocational training" in Xinjiang" is "for the purposes of combating terrorism and religious extremism", only by people already convicted of crimes in connection with terrorism or religious extremism "trained" in these centers.

The document it is said that, at considerable personal risk.

One of The World 's leading experts On China 's policy in Xinjiang, Dr. Adrian Zenz, a senior fellow at The Victims of communism Memorial Foundation in Washington, believes that the latest leak is real.

"This remarkable document presents The Strongest evidence I've seen to date, that Beijing actively in the prosecution and punishment of normal practices of the traditional religious beliefs," he says.

One of the bearings mentioned already, is the "number Four Training Center", was attended by Dr. Zenz as among those of the BBC as part of a tour organized by the Chinese authorities in may last year.

much of The Evidence discovered by the BBC to be the team seems to be confirmed by the new document, revised for publication to protect the privacy of those that contains it.

It includes details of the investigation, 311 main persons, the collection of their origin, religious habits, and relationships with many hundreds of relatives, neighbors and friends.

judgments written in the last column, decide whether those already in detention or should be released, and whether some of those who have posted previously have to return.

There is evidence that appears to directly contradict China's assertion that the camps are only the schools.

In an article, the analysis and the review of the document, the true purpose of The System .

It provides an insight into the minds of those who make the decisions, he says, free of the "ideological and administrative micro-mechanics" of the camp place.

line 598 contains the case of a 38-year-old woman with The First name Helchem, sent to a re-education camp for One main reason: they have been worn known, a veil, a few years ago.

It is only One of A Number of cases of arbitrary retrospective punishment.

Other evidence that even the intention to travel abroad, is now, as a sign of radicalisation in Xinjiang were interned simply for the application for a Passport .

In row 66, a 34-year-old man, was exposed with The First name Memettohti inter, for this very reason, in spite of their designation as posing "virtually no risk".

And Then there's the 28-year-old man Nurmemet in line 239, in re-education for the "click on a web link, and inadvertently landing on a strange website".

Again, his case notes do not describe any other problems with his behavior.

The 311 most important people in all of the Karakax County are listed, near The City of Hotan in southern Xinjiang, an area where More Than 90% of the population are Uighurs.

Muslim Mainly, the Uyghur are closer in appearance, language, and culture of the peoples of Central Asia , as China, the majority of the ethnic group, the Han Chinese .

In recent decades, the influx of millions of Han settlers in Xinjiang has led to rising ethnic tensions and a growing sense of economic exclusion among the Uighurs.

Those complaints have sometimes found their expression in the sporadic outbreaks of violence, stoking a cycle of ever-increasing security reactions from Beijing.

It is for this reason that the Uighurs have been The Target , together with Xinjiang, other Muslim minorities, such as the Kazakhs and Kyrgyz of The Campaign of internment.

"Karakax-list", as Dr. Zenz calls the document the way the Chinese state is now almost any expression of religious belief as a signal of infidelity.

At the root of the perceived infidelity, he says, The State has to find ways to penetrate deep into Uighur homes and hearts.

at the beginning of 2017, when the internment campaign began in earnest, groups loyal to the Communist party of the workers, known as "village-based work in the Team", began to rake through the Uighur society with a massive dragnet.

With each member's number of households that they have visited, sharing friends, and took detailed notes on the "religious atmosphere" in the houses; for example, how many of the Koran, which they had, or whether the religious, observed the rites.

The Karakax-list is indicated, The Most significant evidence for the possibility of this detailed information collection, to sweep, the people in the camps.

It shows, for example, such as China, the concept of "guilt by Association" to accuse and arrest all the used extended family networks in Xinjiang.

For each of the individual topics, the draw 11, column on the work sheet family relationships and your social environment.

China's hidden camps

in addition to any relative or friend who is listed, to remember your own background; how often you pray, whether you are exposed to inter whether you are already abroad.

In fact, the title of the document makes it clear that The Most important persons are listed, all of life is a relative currently abroad - a category, long seen as an important indicator of possible infidelity, the almost certain internment.

rows, 179, 315, and 345 contain A Number of reviews for a 65-year-old man, Yusup.

His record shows two daughters, who "wore veils and burqas in 2014 and 2015," A Son of Islamic political inclinations, and A Family that shows up as "obviously anti-Han mood".

His judgment: "training" - a series of examples, that someone, an internship is not only for their own actions and beliefs, but also for those of their family.

The Information is from The Village of team, also in Xinjiang, the Big Data system, called the Integrated Joint Operations Platform (IJOP).

The IJOP the region contains the surveillance and police records, gathered from a vast network of cameras and to download the binding of mobile spyware, is forced every citizen.

beats The IJOP, Dr. Zenz, can in turn investigate with his AI brain to cross-reference these layers of data, and to send "push notifications", The Village teams of a certain Person.

Adrian Zenz analyzed the leaked document

The Man was "unintentionally landing on a foreign site" was interned thanks to the IJOP.

In many cases, there is but little need for advanced technology, with the wide and vague catch-all term "seem frivolous" several times in the document.

It is the sole reason for the internment of a total of 88 people.

argues for The concept, Dr. Zenz, is Proof that The System is designed, not for those who have committed A Crime , but for a demographic considered potentially suspicious.

Many of the cases in the Karakax list several reasons for the internment; and various combinations of religion, Pass, family, contacts abroad, or just untrustworthy.

most of China's strict Family Planning laws, listed for the violation.

In The Eyes of the Chinese authorities, it seems that too many children is the clearest sign that the Uighurs make their loyalty to culture and tradition over obedience to the secular state.

China has a long his actions in Xinjiang defended as part of an urgent response to The Threat posed by extremism and terrorism.

The Karakax list contains some references to this type of crime, with a minimum of six entries for the preparation, the practice, or the inciting of terrorism, and in two cases, watching illegal videos.

But the broader focus of this compilation of the document seems to be the belief, with More Than 100 entries, the "religious atmosphere describe" home.

The Karakax list has no stamp, or other authenticating marks, nominal value, it is difficult to verify.

It is believed, consisted of Xinjiang, sometime before the end of June last year, together with A Number of other sensitive papers.

they landed in the hands of an anonymous Uighur exile, passed them all, except for this One document.
