About Pamir National Park
Pamir (aka Tajik) National Park encompasses the high peaks, plateaux and river gorges of the Pamir Mountains of eastern Tajikistan. Unique natural features include Sarez Lake, formed after an earthquake, Karakul Lake in a meteor crater, and massive Fedchenko Glacier. Accessed via the mountain towns of Murghab and Khorugh, the sparsely populated park is home to rare wildlife including snow leopards and Siberian ibex.
