Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and media proprietor. She is best known for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, broadcast from Chicago, which ran in national syndication for 25 years, from 1986 to 2011.

Winfrey began her television career in 1976 as a reporter and anchor for wtvf-tv in nashville. She then moved to baltimoer in she co-hosted the local version of people are talking. In 1983. She became the host of a chicago talk show. AMChicago. Which was later renamed the oprah winfrey show. This show was extremely pouplar. And she became one of the most well-known talk show hosts in the world.
