About Notacanthiformes
The Notacanthiformes are an order of deep-sea ray-finned fishes, consisting of the families Halosauridae and Notacanthidae. The order is of relatively recent vintage; Fishes of the World lists it as the suborder Notacanthoidei of Albuliformes.
