Assembly member Nick Ramsay has been suspended by the Welsh Conservative Party and its mounting after a "police incident" at his home.
Mr. Ramsay, 44, is understood, was arrested in the night on Thursday.
The Party was informed on Thursday morning, and Mr Ramsay was suspended from the Welsh assembly Conservative group and The Party .
A party spokesman confirmed there was a police incident on the Monmouth-s'M ' at home on Wednesday evening.
Mr Ramsay, who was elected in 2007, is The Shadow Finance Minister and Chairman of the audit Committee.
A Welsh Conservative spokesman said: "Nick Ramsay was suspended by the Welsh Conservative group in the National Assembly for Wales and the Conservative Party took place after a incident, yesterday.
"The suspension will be reviewed, after a review of The Matter by external agencies.
