Mystery writer Steve Randall (Donald Cook) accepts an invitation by Nan Kirkland (Anne Gwynne) to the reopening of her mother's house. Nan tells Steve and her friends that the house is haunted by the ghost of her father, who committed suicide in the "blue room.
