About Miyakonojo
Miyakonojo is a city on Japan's Kyushu island. In the center, the samurai-era Shimazu Residence has paintings and clothing on display. Northwest, Mochio-Sekinoo Park has a long tunnel of springtime cherry blossoms. The triple cascades of Sekinoo Falls tumble over unusual rock formations. Further north, Lake Miike and Lake Koike are crater lakes surrounded by forest. A steep trail leads to the top of Mount Takachiho.
